As requested more antique toile fabrics have been placed on the website today.
This
is a design I haven't seen previously. I tried to find out what the
design is but to no avail I'm afraid. So let's call it lovers in a cave.
This is an early piece probably late 18th century going by the feel of the fabric and the dye colour.
A tiny hole to left of the woman's arm.

A great design on this fabric. the cotton fabric with the red toile design is stitched onto a backing of linen. There are some stitch holes at the bottom of the piece.
